Our Story

Pousada Maria Maria was born from the dream of transforming hospitality into an experience.

Created and managed by Muryllo and Kleber, the pousada is the result of years of experience in tourism, guest services, and direct interaction with travelers from different parts of Brazil and around the world. Throughout this journey, we have learned that true hospitality goes far beyond offering a comfortable room — it is about attention, care, and genuine connection.

From the very beginning, our proposal has been clear: to remain a small guesthouse, with only a few suites and a strong focus on personalized hospitality. Here, every guest is welcomed by name, every question is answered with care, and every detail of the stay truly matters.

We are located in one of the most strategic areas of Salvador, especially during Carnival, while preserving something essential: a quiet street that allows for real rest after intense days exploring the city.

We believe in hospitality that is close, accessible, and authentic. We recommend tours, arrange transfers, provide guidance about events, and share local tips from those who truly live and love Salvador.

We are also a pet-friendly pousada, because we understand that traveling often means bringing along those who are part of the family. And speaking of family, we have two very special hosts: our Labrador retrievers, Chico and Caetano, who are part of the daily life of the house and help make the atmosphere even more welcoming.

Over the years, we have welcomed guests who became friends and return whenever they come back to Salvador. That is what makes us most proud: building relationships, not just reservations.
